Vet Malpractice

If you suspect malpractice, immediately seek an independent and confidential second opinion. If your pet has died, preserve the remains and quickly take the body to another veterinarian for a necropsy.

The shelter has only one vet who can no longer accommodate consults, especially one that requires a necropsy.

What you can do

You can press charges if you suspect malpractice, but please consult with a private lawyer as we can no longer accommodate additional cases. Our volunteer lawyers already have their hands full with ongoing animal cruelty cases.

Monitor your pet鈥檚 stay at the hospital or clinic. Don鈥檛 hesitate to ask questions. Trust your common sense.

Always ask for a copy of your pet鈥檚 test results (blood test, x-ray, etc) and keep a record of whatever treatment is being administered to your pet.
